Insurance & Financing

We’re committed to helping you understand how your care is covered and paid for. If you’re comparing dental insurance Canada, this guideline explains how the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) and private benefits work so you can plan treatment with confidence.

Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP)

We accept the CDCP. It’s a federal program that can cover up to 100% of approved fees for eligible residents, depending on household income. If you’ve been approved, you’ll pay less at our clinic.

Who Qualifies And How Coverage Works

To qualify, you must be a Canadian resident for tax purposes, have filed your most recent return, have a family net income below $90,000, and have no access to private coverage. Applications are now open to all eligible Canadians, and coverage is renewed annually.

What The Plan May Include

CDCP benefits may include prevention (cleanings, fluoride, sealants), diagnostics (X-rays), restorative care (fillings, root canal treatment), removable dentures, and oral surgery such as extractions. Coverage depends on income and the program’s approved fees. For questions about dental X-ray insurance, our team can check your benefits.

How Much You Might Pay

The amount covered is income-based (e.g., up to 100% below $70,000; 40% at $80,000–$89,999). You may also pay a co-payment and/or any difference if a clinic’s fees are higher than the CDCP fee amounts. We’ll explain these costs before treatment so there are no surprises.

Your Other Coverage

If you have private benefits, we’ll help you understand your dental coverage options and, when applicable, submit a predetermination to your insurer before care begins. We can also send an estimate to the relevant dental insurance plans for a benefits decision.

New patients: What to Bring

Please bring current X-rays (if available), a list of medications, and your policy numbers if you have private benefits. We can submit an estimate for pre-approval and confirm benefits—helpful for new patients' dental insurance questions.

Payments, Estimates, and Receipts

Before care starts, we’ll provide a written estimate based on our clinical assessment and—when needed—forward it to your insurer for pre-approval and a benefits determination. Our Spencer Dentistry financial policy explains fees and payment expectations in advance.

Accepted Methods

We accept Visa, MasterCard, debit, and cash at the time of service. If you have questions about timing, talk to our team so we can review options within our policy and your plan details while you explore dental financing Canada through providers you trust.

Warranty Reassurance

Our Continuing Care Warranty supports eligible treatment when recommended care is maintained: fillings for one year and porcelain crowns, bridges, veneers, and dental implants for five years.
